Piano Lessons

Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn a classical sonatina, rock chords, or popular sheet music, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you.

It is ideal if you do have a piano at home, but you can start lessons with our piano teachers by using an electric keyboard to practice on. Most of our students rent or buy small electric keyboards practice on at home. We recommend a keyboard that has regular sized keys and a touch sensitive response. A touch sensitive keyboard means if you press a key harder it will play louder and if you press a key softer it will play quieter.

GUITAR, BASS, MANDOLIN, BANJO LESSONS

Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading, and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes. Our teachers can even help you with guitar repair: such as the set up of your guitar or replacing your strings!

Voice Lessons

Our private voice teachers primarily focus on popular music and musical theatre songs. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, theatre, or R&B singer, then we have the right voice teachers for you! Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, preparing for a theatre audition, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.

Drum Lessons

Our drum instructors will teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other styles. Drum language can be complex and our instructors will challenge any drummer with a wide variety of technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort. All drummers may bring in their favorite drum parts to learn in their lessons and theory is encouraged. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to take lessons. Beginning students can learn with a drum pad and sticks for as low as $19.99. Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks and a notebook. We also offer Percussion Lessons, which is a wonderful addition to any school band program, rock band, or worship band.

Violin Lessons

Our string instructors will teach all styles of music, from learning to play by ear to reading music. If you want to play classical music or the fiddle, we have a teacher for you. Students can be as young as 5 years old, or younger with the teacher's approval. Our students love learning the fundamentals, as well as incorporating your favorite songs into their lessons. Our violin teachers have friendly personalities and love working with children and teens and adults!

Pre-K Music Lessons

Our classes are designed to introduce your kid to the fun of music and the basics of playing an instrument. We offer two classes: CMA Tiny Tunes ages 2 – 4, and CMA Music Marvels ages 5 – 7 . We use a variety of age-appropriate instruments and props to keep your child engaged and excited about learning. Your kid will explore the world of music through hands-on activities and games. Bands

At Carmel Music Academy, we want to help your child develop their musical talents and abilities. We are excited to offer bands that focus on performing as a group. These lessons are perfect for kids ages 6-18 who are looking to improve their skills or learn a new instrument in Carmel, IN. Each band will be led by an experienced instructor who will help your kid explore and develop their skills.

Music Camps

Music camps provide a unique opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in the world of music and explore their musical interests in a fun and supportive environment! Carmel Music Academy offers camps for kids ages 6-18 that run Monday through Friday from 9 am – 1 pm. Our camps have a range of activities, from instrument lessons to performing in a group. Your kid gets the chance to learn from experienced teachers, collaborate with their peers, and develop confidence in their skills as a musician. Our camps are held at our school here in Carmel, IN. Whether your kid is just starting out or is looking to take their skills to the next level, our camps are here for you!

Music Workshops

We are excited to offer fun and interactive workshops for students of Carmel Music Academy. Our workshops are designed to help your young musician develop their skills beyond their standard lessons. These workshops will be a group setting of up to six kids. These will be held here at our school in Carmel, IN, with state-of-the-art instruments and great instructors.

Every artist or artist's parent want to know how they or their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to participate in a live performance. We are the only music school in central Indiana that offers at least two free concerts in addition to an Outdoor Autumn Music Fest held on a Big 24 x 20 foot outdoor festival stage every year. Unlike most other schools, we do not charge a participation or admission fee for any of these events.

We are the only music school in Central Indiana that gives student discount cards offering discounts to local music stores, restaurants and other merchant stores which saves money as long as you are an enrolled student at Carmel Music Academy.
Our student discount card saves you money on all of your music supply needs: music books, instruments and accessories. The student discount card can also be used at other local businesses including the recording studio. ​

10. Month to Month Lessons.

Carmel Music Academy does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis. If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract.
